We’re helping move clean energy technologies from the laboratory to commercial production, with the Clean Energy Prize.
The Clean Energy Prize, presented by DTE Energy and the University of Michigan, is an annual entrepreneurship competition that challenges teams from Michigan colleges and universities to develop the best plan for bringing new clean-energy technologies to market. Open to students and faculty from any Michigan college or university, the competition will be administered and hosted by the University of Michigan.
The goals of this effort are to serve as a catalyst for clean energy research and development and encourage a culture of entrepreneurship in Michigan. The initial competition will be held in the fall of 2008, with the final prize to be awarded in the spring of 2009. The total prize pool for the 2008-2009 competition is expected to be $100,000, which will be divided among the winning teams.
